Poetry specialises in unique, refined and nature-inspired clothing, shoes, accessories and homeware for the contemporary woman whose in touch with herself and her environment, while enjoying the whimsy of life.
There is a graceful exclusivity to Poetry’s collections as only a limited runs of each product is produced, ensuring that shoppers can embrace their individuality and express their personalities freely.
The brand curates eclectic combinations of clothing and accessories to make your wardrobe fresh, exciting and reflective of your essence and its smart-casual style can transition from business meeting sophisticated to Sunday brunch with ease. You’ll find all the essential items in the Poetry catalogue, including sleepwear, swimwear and almost every style dress you can imagine.
Poetry also supplies a range of jewellery and natural skincare products and cosmetics to keep you radiant and fresh. You can also keep your home as bright and polished as your wardrobe with Poetry’s homeware line that features all the essentials you need to make your home a sanctuary.
Driven by a passion for the art behind design and creation, Poetry’s philosophy is that shopping in one of their stores should be an experience and a journey of personal discovery. It also strives to cater for women’s lifestyles and originally added its homeware collection for women who often buy gifts for their loved ones.
And because Poetry understands that your furry friend is part of your family, they’ve added a Pets range that comprises locally made products your pets will love.
Poetry has thirty-seven stores nation-wide and can be found in most major metropolitan cities.
Poetry was founded by creators who love inspiring the imagination through their craft. It first opened its doors in 2008 with a location in the upmarket Cavendish Square Shopping Centre in Cape Town as well as in George, a small city along the Garden Route.
But South Africans were already familiar with Poetry’s one-of-a kind style because it evolved from the Cape Union Mart, Old Khaki women’s line and was sold in their stores. Poetry’s gorgeous aesthetic and flowery designs soon outgrew Cape Union Mart which is South Africa’s go-to destination for outdoor apparel, accessories and essentials.
Poetry is operated by Martine Vogelman who is the great grandchild of Cape Union Mart founder, Phillip Krawitz.
Poetry is committed to supporting local creators and features a maker of the week on their website to encourage support for South African artists, designers and craftsmen.
